Go through the auctions and you'll see new 2008 blue GT's that I assume were to be the Dan Gurney cars. Saleen wheels went for around $100 each.
The next auction..

Look at the auctions again, some of those wheels went for a $100 a SET.
Some have already turned up on craigslist here in Detroit for 1000% profit.

Need some spiffy parts for your Ford Mustang or F-150, or have a hankering for some shop tools and fixtures? What about an '08 Mustang?
If so, the folks at ASC Holdings/Saleen Inc. might be able to help you out on Aug. 12.
The suburban-Detroit-based specialty vehicle manufacturer is consolidating its operations and clearing old stock and parts via a one-day online auction.
The auction catalog, which can be seen at
www.1800lastbid.com/auction/listings/ca ... =806430580, has a wide variety of items, including tables, three-axis measuring machines and shop tools.
Here are some of the items that would grab an enthusiast's eye:
-- 20 brand-new 2008 Ford Mustang GT coupes.
-- Multiple sets of new, aftermarket wheels for Ford Mustangs and F-150 pickups.
-- A wide variety of interior and exterior trim pieces for Mustangs and F-150 pickups.
-- A variety of suspension pieces and underhood pieces for Mustangs and F-150s.
The auction is set to run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is open to the public.

Please, that's not even funny.
What if....
Ford went bankrup
GM did the same....
some have said,
America would follow....
The Japanese own the elecrtronics market in America
The Japanese own the Cell Phone markert, in America
The Japanese own the Computer market, in America
The Japanese own much of the steel market in America
A Japanese car is the #1 selling car, in America...
How much more do people think we can endure, before
we fall and fail ? It's gotta stop.
If ya think the cost of things is high now.....WAIT.
$5.75 for a quart of milk IS POSSIBLE !

Sandy,
I have to say you are very wrong with your assumptions above. I work in the electronics industry and japan does not own the market in america, not by a long shot. The worldwide electronics industry is ruled by a US company, which makes 35 Billion per year, almost twice it's next closest competitor. In fact, 8 of the top 20 electronics companies worldwide are in the US.
The US computer industry is ruled by US companies, HP, Dell, and Apple.
The worldwide computer industry is also ruled by US companies, using chips from US companies, mainly made in US factories.
As for the cell phone market its nokia which is from Finland, and their cell phones are packed full of chips from Texas Instruments (USA) and european companies. Samsung cells alot of cell phones that are made with chips from US companies like Texas Instruments and Freescale (formerly Motorola's chip unit). Many of the Sony electronics products like mp3 players also are loaded with chips from US companies.
You might be shocked on this one too, but european cars like BMW and Mercedes are powered by electronics from the US as well.
Here is another shocker for you, my company (Freescale Semiconductor) is the biggest worldwide vendor of automotive electronics. We sell electronics that are in every GM, Ford, Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, TOYOTA! and many more...

uh, this is true?!?!??!!?
Saleen is really going out of business?
If so, they priced themselves out of reach of too many people. Nice cars, but the prices have skyrocketed the last 10-15 years. I remember looking at Saleens on lots in the late 80s' / early 90s and they were much more reasonable.

No, it looks like ASC/Saleen are simply consolidating their manufacturing and R&D facilities according to the article I found.
