Good Evening. I'm a new user at this forum, and at the moment not a McLaren owner. (I do have a '91 Mustang vert). I am going to look at an '88 Yellow McLaren that is for sale. Two initial questions: Does anybody know how many 88's were painted yellow? I've been scanning the web and have yet to see another one. Second, as a potential buyer, is there anything special I should watch for with a used Mclaren that is different from a regular Mustang? Many thanks.

Welcome to the site. You have come to the right place to get your questions answered. Be sure to update us after you look at the yellow McLaren.

Take pictures and post them. People here can tell you what was changed and what is original.

Thanks to all who replied. As it turns out, the guy had posted the car for sale for $1500 (yes, that's not a typo), and I was trying to jump on it. He realized what he had and decided to pull it off (craig's List). He was a towing company and had no title, so now is going through the paperwork to get a title and then plans to post it on ebay for a lot more $. Most likely will be out of my price range by then. Anyway, thanks guys for the replies. If I ever do get it, i'll be sure to let you know.

Yeah, after he got 800 replies in 3 minutes, I'm sure a lightbulb or two went off.
