StLouis Car Show A Win

Post by beakyboy »

My nieces husband took my 86 vert to a 236 car show in St k louis today. It now is done totally restored . Won first place in Mustang class which had 31 cars and 3rd place overall. He did say there was shelby's and boss mustangs in the class and some 50k plus cars.
He said the car was the buzz of the show - was a crowd around it all day . He felt really proud that his work he had done restoring the car was recognized . He said the car being original paint and 15k miles and original except battery and hoses impressed the judges as did the unusual nature of the car - none of the judges had ever seen a 84-86 vert.Being black it also needed to be clean body wise - it only has two little dents on wheel wells area. He thought it got 93pts but he was not sure.THe original mats were an extra too
Drove to the the KNoxville Nationals with the SHO .THE finest car i have ever owned and the most fun to drive. Shame is I can only drive it 50 miles at a time . Racing was terrible They had 15 inches of rain in 3 days.Ruins dirt track racing .
Thanks again to everybody . Going to see verti in three weeks and bring it home in a little while . Special thank you to Sandy.

"Special Thanks to Sandy"
Well THAT was a surprise ending! I appreciate it, BUT what did I do ??

My story. Our town has a cruise nite, in the town's center, from June 1 until the last Wednesday in August. Sometimes a big turnout, sometimes a poor turnout. Last Wednesday, I took the Crown Jewel, the Azura Blue speciman. This is an unrestored, utter perfection, 100 point car, with 2,370 miles, driven about 120 miles a year, strictly for servicing.
For the first 90 minutes of the show, I had her top down, then at the 90 minute mark, I put the top up.

NOT ONE PERSON took the time to even LOOK at her. She was like "invisable" to all. WHAT did they look at ???

The car next to me! A hunk of junk 1951 Ford club coupe, in primer, with rust, with no back seat, with 1956 Oldsmobile 98 Spinner Wheel Covers, with ripped front seat, with nothing closing the rear seat area from the trunk area, with rocker panel rust, and lowered down to 2 inches from the ground, a creepy crawler, and this POS drew a crowd all nite.

Not 1 person looked at Azura-Blew

I would not waste a film on it. Better examples in the local pick 'n pull
