Soon, probably next week, I will be going into the hospital, probably 5 to 7 days UGH. They are going to cut out, literally , my cancer. They will remove 70% of one side of my Liver, and 30% of the other side. The miracle is that the Liver will attain its original size ... in 4 weeks or less.
It will grow a new, healthy liver.
The Liver is (I think) the ONLY human part that does that !!
I hate being in the hospital. 2 years ago it was a hernia and I was "in" for 3 days & 2 nights, and I hated it. This time more than double length.
With the new liver, I will be 100% Cancer FREE
SOooo, I let you all know, when I will enter the hospital, and I will be missing in action for a week or so. I am gonna miss this place.
Recovery at home is about a month. They are gonna "cut-Me" and many stitches and all that - - which I never had with the hernia, as it was done laproscopicly.
So, I will let 'ya know when I leave to go and when I get home.
Yes, I am scared tulipless

& worried about Karen , also. I can see she is very uipset.
The goal is to be cancer-free. It's worth the pain & cost to be free of cancer that I have had for 4 years, now.
God willing .... I will be back.
So, I will let 'ya know when I leave to go and when I get home.
Say a prayer for me. Any religion, they are aLL good !!
I have both a Priest & a Rabbi at the hospital.
IF I DO NOT DO THIS surgery, it might spread to a non-operative
area - - so.... I gotta do it.

I am moved, emotionally.
I do not know when - I am going in.
I have to wait until I have NOT had a medicine cslled Avasden, for 6 weeks. I think I last had it 4 weeks back - not sure.
I will be "in" for between 5 days, and a week. I am so so so scared !!
I have the #1 top Dr. for this, doing me. When it's over & I awaken - I will be all doped up, becuse of pain !! Full recovery is expected by 90 days, or like October. A brand newe liver will grow into place over just a 4-week period. That liver will be 100% cancer-free, new, healthy liver.
I will then be 100% "clean" of Cancer.
But, I am big baby, and scared outta my diapers !!!
If I do NOT do this-- I will die, as the cancer will spread and who knows to where..... Heart or ????

A car story for Sandy!
I started kindergarten 50 years ago with my best friend Steve. We have remained friends for over 50 years! In August of 1985 Steve and his wife came over to my house in their new McLaren Coupe.
They/ we were celebrating thier first big purchase as a married couple.
$14,000 was a lot of cash in 1985. Steve is a car guy! Move ahead to
November of 2002 Steve is diagnosed with liver cancer after being doctored for a gall bladder for 3 months. His wife had her hands full with sick husband 1 paycheck and 2 kids. Coupe had been in storage for almost 17 years at this point.
His wife called and asked for help in liquidating assets as insurance company had a cap on transplant operations. I will shorten story at this point. My wife and I bought the Coupe to help out a friend
who was deahly ill and wanted to know where car was going.
My friend missed 5 livers in the same week at University of Michigan hospital for various reasons in 2003 " He said to me I don't know how much longer I can fight this, I am going down hill fast:" I said keep swinging and dodge the big ones. 3 days later I got a phone call in the middle of a work day from his wife. ( I was thinking this is not good when I saw the caller ID) I answered, " She said say a prayer for us The life flight helicopter is in the air, he's gettting a liver today!" I will never forget those words !
The best part of this car story is 1 year later Steve came to my house and we spent the day cruising the Coupe. He is still doing well today!
There is always HOPE and Prayer!
I would like to say to the family of the organ donor THANK YOU for your
gift of life at the worst time of your life!
TO ALL :PLEASE REGISTER AND MAKE YOUR ORGAN DONATION BELIEFS
AND WISHES KNOWN TO YOUR FAMILYS.
SANDY , KEEP SWINGING AND DODGE THE BIG ONES!

BUT............ Sandy is not getting a transplant.
The area with the cancer spoors is being cut out.
My Dr. is the head of the Cancer Dept.
He states that the Liver is THE ONLY body part that
will re-grow, and the new growth will be free of cancer.
He states it will reach normal size within 4 weeks,
and will be 100% healthy.
just to let you know

You missed the point! It was a wish for you to be well, and to try a lift your spirits. It is a true story. There is always hope and your procedure is a big risk. Thousands of useful organs are buried every year. Good Luck with your procedure, My wish for you is good health ,because we are worthless without good health! My opinion!
