'88 Camaro McLaren???

1988 Chevy Camaro Iroc Z 2-door coupe Convertible, 5 speed-manual transmission, only 19,303 Original Miles. ONE FAMILY & OREGON OWNED since new. I "inherited" this car from first owner who bought it off showroom floor in Portland, 1988. I've personally known the first owner and car since 1996. Supposedly one of only 16 ever made: rare McLaren package with custom exhaust, etc. Only thing better than how she looks/drives is how she sounds! All original, stock, no repaint, clean title, good tags, no liens. Had new battery this year, new top last year, new tires 5-6 years ago (old ones weren't worn, just old, didn't trust). Other features: 8-way power driver's seat, cold air, PW, PM, PDL, power trunk, cruise, tilt, cassette, beautiful original alloy wheels.
This car is a TIME CASPULE. She will be 40 next year and is barely broken in. So if you intend to do anything stupid with this investment, like modify her "stock" condition or use her for a daily driver, don't even call me. And don't annoy me with "book." This is not some average, beat up old Camaro. It is a rare, well-kept McLaren convertible with 19K miles and essentially only one owner - a classic destined to shoot up in value over next 5-10. If you don't know this, don't call me.

These were and ASC-only project.

Also they cant do math, 1988 was 30 years ago lol. What did ASC do, did those camaros not come in vert form?

ASC converted standard Camaros into convertibles. My buddy owns one of the prototypes and two restored examples.
They were sold as an RPO by Chevy dealers.

I don't know what the production numbers were but I think less than the Capri and Mustang. I do see a number of them without looking for them. My smog guy had one then wrecked it. Needed parts and I found a whole car just a couple of blocks from my house.

Quite the reverse. They built over 20,000 Camaro/Firebird convertibles '87-93 before GM brought it in-house (with ASC components), or so the story goes.

I see a couple every year here in Michigan. Plus I know of one that was built in to a drag car. Last time I had seen it. It had a Turbo Trailblazer motor which was its third trailblazer motor and had already had a couple of V-8's installed

Hi! Never got a close up look at one of these redone Camaros. But .. I had always wondered if there were any interchangeable parts.? Not FoMoCo or GM stuff , But things ASC used. And if so. Would it still be in the GM parts pipeline. Just a thought.

I have not looked too closely. Nothing seems familiar on the Chevy cars. Likely the pull down motor is used on the trunk. I will ask my smog guy on the next visit.
