I cannot see one ascMcLaren specific item in the picture, of which there is only one photo. He does not publish the VIN, so I cannot check any specifics on it, either.

It is an asc because the front bumper cover is cut EXACTLY the same way mine was and Kyle's (with the 1 of 1 86 asc) is for the front air dam.

I would bet dollars to donuts that nobody but asc would cut that front bumper that way. Then again I could be WRONG.

does look like ASC wing on back. This car would

Don't you wonder (sometimes) how a 19 year old car can go from showroom to this condition, yet you'll see plenty of other 1986 and older cars looking great and driving down the roads?

What really gets me, is I see plenty of 3 & 4 year-old S-Class Mercedes & Jaguars and de Villes on the road that are filthy, dented, scratched, paint all chipped off the back bumper and keyed. Why spend THAT kinda money, if you have no intention of giving it reasonable care? Buy a Cavalier or a Cobalt or similiar, and trash that.

Regardless, 615779 was Raven Black with Silver Metallic Tapework & Anthracite Wheels. It was recieved at ascMcLaren on June 23rd 1986, was converted on June 24th 1986 (the next day! ~ Unusual!) and shipped out on June 25th ! 3 day car! It was a Full Packaged example and was the 5th from-the-last unit made !! It's Dash Plaque # was # 110. The car made just before it, was MINE !

EDIT:

You might be interested to know that the FINAL shipment of 1986 ascMcLaren COUPEs went out on August 14th 1986, meaning that they arrived at intended dealerships on or about the 28th of August, along with 1987 cars being delivered on the same delivery trucks ! Thus was my car. It arrived at Wayne L-M in Wayne, N.J. on August 22nd of 1986. They had allready taken delivery of over 20 1987 Cougars & Marquis.
Dealers had allready recieved "holdback" monies on cars that had not landed yet !

How many ASC 86 vin's have you been able to track down ?

Interesting only one day for conversion. I bet this car looked
sweet when new. I don't think this one will ever return to its
glory

This vin# is also very close to my 86.# 15840

Who has #115 has it been documented or found. I also noticed
most of the euro-coupes have late build dates and found only
two 86 Capri with c.u.n. over 20_ _ _ unit mark.

It would be neat to have a web page for each year showing all the registered cars...
A picture of the car, the owners name/location and a small blurb about the car/owner...

I'd be up for working on something...we'd just need to gather all the info...just a thought

I found # 115 many many years ago. It was sold in Michigan. It was Oxford White with the Popsicle Orange tapework and white wheels. If memory serves correctly, it was one of the 9 with automatic transmission. Sadly, it was stolen, and never found. It had been mildly customized by its owner. He had recovered the seats in Mustang Convertible leather (white) in front, and had custom made ones for the back seat (remember, it's split on the Capri, not on the Mustang 'Vert. Then it had the grey custom door panel from a 1986 ascMcLaren Convertible installed with those long armrests and door courtesy/warning lamps and those hanging pull straps. It was really nice ! It's VIN was 619676. August 6th received, August 10th converted, August 14th shipped out to dealer IN Michigan, arriving on August 17th. LAST CAR!

The EuroCoupes (with the exception of the first 5 units) came at the tail end of the full packaged car.

Then, an additional 26 units built expressively for Northtown L-M in Kansas City. These were incomplete units, that were shipped directly from ascMcLaren with only the ground effects installed, front, rear & side. All other EuroCoupe specific items were shipped loose to Northtown's parts department and sold piece-meal to the buyer. Few...very very few, had everything correctly on them. They are easily spotted as almost everyone was missiing something or several thngs on them.

They were made at the bitter end of 1986 Capri production at Dearborn.
Northtown got 26 sets of every piece ascMcLaren put onto the above 21 EuroCoupes. Northtown VINS were:

Does anyone live close to this car? I am interested in a modifying a McLaren but don't wish to do it to a pristine car. I would just like to know if this is a solid car. Also does anyone know of a company that is fair with shipping that would pick this car up at a residence and deliver to PA???
