That would be handy.
I think the shifter might hit the extended cupholder maybe....
Maybe not though.

More prep pics for my project.
I picked up some 92 fenders and added them to my 88 since I will be running 245-45-17's.
I've got 1/2 of the car stripped to bare metal, the drivers side, fender, door, 1/4 panel, top cover, and the trunk lid.
I converted the trunklid CHMSL (Center High Mounted Stoplight) to an flush mounted LED and will be trimming/reshaping the spoiler to get rid of the stock CHMSL bezel.
I had to take the door off to get the door jamb prepped becuase the crappy paint that was on it had great coverage.... too bad it wasn't any good or attractive at all.
I also found some really crappy wiring in the door harness so I'll be re-doing that as well before it's all done.
Here are some pics
Looked like this (crap) when I bought it

Camera phone shot-

Nice wiring ACE (hole)

L.E.D. CHSML

On the way to looking like this Photoshop -(CHSML is a bit skewed)

I've been thinking about a hardtop for a while now... maybe after the 442 is done I will fab one up. I'll need a header bow with latches, but the rest I can make, I think.BRYAN ROGERS wrote:O.K. here you go.

YOu can also try led tail lights as they are not so expensiveBRYAN ROGERS wrote:A power roof sounds cool..............
But I have to get to driving this car at some point in my life, so I'll try keep the over engineering to a minimum.
The car will look exactly like the exterior pic that I Photoshopped in my pics. I already have all of the exterior parts except for the front fender extensions and the tail lights.
Due to the price of McLaren tail light nice led lights covers, I might stick with the extra 93 Cobra tail lights I have in the garage. I'll put them on at first and then stand back and look at them to see whow I truly feel about them.
I have the wheels, 5 lug axles, Baer tracker big brake kit / rear disc kit, 93 Cobra rear bumper cover, and late model ASC lower rocker mouldings (even though I like the 93 Cobra ones better).
The interior is going to be fully custom. However, I want to emphasize that it won't be a big ass speaker box like most custom interiors you see.
Instead, I want to make custom door panels, center console, and dashboard. I really like the interior on the Infiniti G35 Coupes, the new Aston Martins and the new Mustangs.
I will take cues from many of the finer cars available today to make my interior look sharp.
The top will be black.
The seats and interior trim will be black or dark charcoal (I'll still be getting dirty at work) with metal trim work, I'd like to do stainless accents but I'll have to see where I'm going/can go with it first.
I have a 331 stroker motor that will go in there with the original 5 speed trans from my Cobra.
I'm working on mounting a 4.6 A/C pump onto the passenger side of the 5.0 motor where it normally mounts on the 4.6 (smog pump goes bye bye).
The big part of that is, I want to move the A/C box and heater core to the rear storage compartment area. To do that, I'd need to get an A/C-heater unit from a limo (much smaller). If I can do that then I can weld/smooth the firewall to eliminate the A/C & heater holes that are there now. The battery will mount on the other side of the tranny tunnel from the A/C -heater box. Then I'll make a cover that looks similar to the original to cover it all with a flip up door to acces the battery.
