Not sure if this one was mentioned ever before it just looks so nice I had to post it. There are some mods done to it though.

did anyone notice the sign says front air dam in the Mclaren Equipment section yet there is a factory rs/5.0 airdam? i thought the euro coupes recieved the normal asc airdam.

also didnt the euro coupes have the quarter window glass deleted?

did the tail light panels get blacked out on the euro coupes? thought the factory capris stopped getting this in 84?

there are Full package seats on this car too.

nice looking car though.

86 ASC Euro

Post by mustangjim »

Hi All,

This is my Eurocoupe 8) . It is in storage/consignment for the winter. I appreciate the comments. I have had her for the last 6 years and have only had to replace a brake light switch :P . As for some of the details as pointed out in the previous post, the 1/4 glass, rear panel & seats are correct, the air dam seems to be the sticking point, I have been told its incorrect, but there are also several other Euros with the same one. I have been told possibly a late substitution (This IS the last Oxford White Euro built by ASC in Livonia by VIN), I honestly do not know & considering its relative rarity & excellent condition as well as provenance will most likely leave it as is.

I also own a 79 Capri Ghia that is a "pre-launch" vehicle with a build date of 7-25-78. Kind of like having a 1st & Last Capri of the model line. (Those of you who are nit-picky, please do not confuse my 1st & last analogy, the 79 was not the 1st (close to it) & the 86 was not the last (close to it as well) LOL 8) 8)

I have contemplated possibly selling both of them as a pair, due to some impending circumstances due to employment (I work for DaimlerChrysler, say no more)and the fact I have too many vehicles, so if you know anyone interested, please PM or e-mail me. Any legitimate leads/offers leading to purchase will be offered a 3% commission by me. :D

Happy New Year,
Jim

Hi Jim,

That is great owning one of the first and last Capri's. If I were you hold onto them. You will never get anywere near the pentential of these cars and probably would regret it in the future when things get better. Havent you heard many times before, gee I wish I would have kept that Boss 429? Well maybe not one of those but, lol you get the meaning. So what other cars do you own if you dont mind me asking?
