wheel color code

Post by Paul C. »

Does anyone know the paint code for the "gold color" on the wheels of an 84 vert? Also, we been comparing the 84 asc to two 84 20th aniversary stangs. It looks like they have identical supensions. Your thoughts??

Thanks
Paul

Is the '84 a Coupe or a converible? If a convertible, that's probable, but NOT if a Coupe, unless the suspension was changed by a prev. owner.

#26 convertible

Post by Paul C. »

Hi Sandy,

It's car #26. Vert is short for convertible. :) We have the ability to redo the wheels on the car, but I need to know the correct paint code for the wheels. The suspension on the Mclaren appears to match the 1984 GT-350 aniversary cars. Can you confirm this information? I also found a source in Arizona for the tonneau cover motor for $50 each. This guy goes out to junk yards and gets trunk motors, then he rebuilds them to new condition. I pick one up to replace the one that is missing in #26. We've got a lot of work to do to bring that car back up to specs.

Take care
Paul

Call Hank in Florida, he might be able to give you the paint code for the wheels.

If you have a source for top Motors, please post it. People are always in need of those.

I think the 84 asc vert should be identical to the 84 Mustang. The only difference they might have done would have been a spring change and we are unsure exactly which verts got spring changes....maybe the 84s did not.

It's the coupes that got the extra suspension mods.

Hi Paul, so good to hear such stories of restoring your ASC. It helps from all the blows of people parting out, sigh. Would love to know what motors he is using and were we can get them from him. As far as suspension goes I would say the springs and check the tie rods. Didn't you notice the ASC sitting lower then the 84 GT350?

1987-1989, possibly into the 90s, Olds 98, Buick Electra & Cadillac "C" bodies. Not 100% positive that the Toro & Rivi used the same units, so I am NOT including them. Hank in Florida rebuilts them & has 'em in stock at http://www.ascmclaren.com

Yes, all Cadillacs. Someone had mentioned Caddys, & I was just adding the OTHER GMs that employed the identical unit.

Nick,

Your right the ASC does sit lower, both of the GT-350's are up on car lifts.
