F/S CHROME RIKEN 16x7"wheels, $150+ shippi

Post by BRYAN ROGERS »

4 used 4 lug CHROME RIKEN mesh wheels for sale.

$150 + shipping for the set. All 4 must go

No center caps.

No MAJOR damage or dents. I think every one of them has a little curb rash on it though.

The original owner also used the wrong socket on the lugs and chewed up the raised area around the lug holes. THis can easily be taken care of with a disc sander.

These are not going to be the nicest wheels you've ever seen, but they are 16x7's"and pretty close in appearance to the original wheels for an 88 ASC.

If I were going to re-use these I would hit the rashed and chewed areas with a disc sander, then re-chrome them.

I have a 5 lug swap a a full set of 17" wheels and tires already so I cannot re-use these wheels.

I just have too much stuff in the garage to the point that I can't even keep the ASC @ my house to get working on it. I'm trying to change that.

I know I am not an expert on the later asc wheels but boy, those don't look like asc wheels to me. The centers look all wrong.

There are two types of mesh wheels that I know of, the following is a later one and stamped TYP-1934A:

The earlier ones (84-86/87) were stamped TYP-34F.

Was there a third one? Are there numbers on these?

Someone put different wheels on it too.

I apologize.
Well, I would measure the openings and see if the TireRack.com has replacement caps that size.

I would also research the wheels. Many more people are looking for MSW or Rikken wheels or the like rather than asc wheels. Post these over at www.foureyedpride.com and see if somebody can ID them.

What size are they? 15" or 16"?

I know people are looking hard for 16" mesh wheels it seems.

16s are a big plus as I thought the ascs were 15". Or did they go to 16" later?

I know people look for the old style 4 lug 16" mesh wheels fairly often as they are pretty hard to find.

Thanks Sandy!.

I Google imaged "Riken mesh wheels" and found a pic of the same wheel.

They are Rikens.

Make sure you now get street value for those...you'll be surprised at what they go for. $150 is a steal for those.

I've been looking at these wheels online, people are asking $400-$600 for them with tires.

I'm sure I can get more than $150 for them, but I'm not trying to get rich off of them. I think the price is fair for the condition of the wheels.

The people who have contacted me have nice cars, and I'm sure they will be refurbishing the wheels before using them (or they will be using them to beat on so they can preserve their stock wheels). Either way, I think $150 will satisfy both myself and the purchaser.

The deal is first come, first serve.

I just want to get a closer look at the ones that are still on the car before I commit to sell all of them, just in case one of them is in poor condition or something that I'm not aware of at this time.

The car is 70 miles from me, so it's hard to just pop in and check it out.

Just out of curiousity, I checked with my purchasing guy here at BBK to see what it would cost to have these wheels re chromed which would take care of the rash.

He quoted $ 110 each.

That is very cheap!!! Probably cause it is done locally to you right? I was quoted $250 a wheel for rechrome of my 17" Cobra R's 4 lug cause they had to be sent out to California for the refinish. My ASC mesh anthracite wheels returned to stock condition and cost a total of $583 with tax. I tipped the driver on top of that cause they went out of their way to pick up and drop off to a residential area which they dont normally do. The wheels look awesome and I hope to post pics of them real soon so people can get an idea of what can be expected. Mike also had his orange mesh wheels redone from Hank that look really good.
