That is very cheap!!! Probably cause it is done locally to you right? I was quoted $250 a wheel for rechrome of my 17" Cobra R's 4 lug cause they had to be sent out to California for the refinish. My ASC mesh anthracite wheels returned to stock condition and cost a total of $583 with tax. I tipped the driver on top of that cause they went out of their way to pick up and drop off to a residential area which they dont normally do. The wheels look awesome and I hope to post pics of them real soon so people can get an idea of what can be expected. Mike also had his orange mesh wheels redone from Hank that look really good.

Nick,
Damn, $250 per wheel to have them rechromed??? You might as well buy new ones for that price....... How old are your Cobra Rs? I am planning on buying some right now. Who did you get yours from? Bones Enterprises, AFS, or O.E. Wheels? If the finish wasn't very good, maybe I should stay away from who you bought from. And I'm actually kicking around the idea of going with polished aluminum instead of chrome.....
I purchased my wheels from AFS on Ebay. I would say probably after a year it started to peal. I must have put less then 500 miles on them too! I plan on either powdercoating or polishing them in the future. Imo you are better off with a polished set of wheels if you want them to shine, chrome seems to be hit or miss. My friend bought a 2004 Roush 440A and the chrome wheels direct from Roush were already pealing a year old.

Thanks Nick, I'm still deciding on what I'd like to do. I've been thinking about the Cobra Rs for a few years and am ready to buy, but have just seen the Speedstars that are available that look sharp too, (they are on that royal gold one of Ken's for a look.) And then I've been giving alot of consideration to the finish, I'm leary about the level of quality of the chroming because I've heard many stories of peeling a short time later. so I'm leaning towards the polished aluminum. I would trust the finish on the actual true FORD Cobra Rs, but as usual they are way high on price. (its funny I don't see many people with true cobra rs........)
Retrospect considering how the chrome peals on the cheaper models it's worth spending a little more in the beginning for peace of mind then having to do it all over again a year or so later.
I like the wheels the Shelby's are using now, hope they make a 4 lug version soon otherwise I might just buy the adapters. Since I had the original wheels redone I am contimplating leaving them on this summer and save money versus refinishing the Cobra R's or replacing them.

There is a company out there that has already produced that new Shelby style wheel in 4 lug, I just happened to see it online a few days ago, and I actually saw a Fox body 'vert last summer at the Dream Cruise in MI with them on. I should've snapped a pic. The jury is still out on whether they'd look good on ASC's.....
