I'm sure this has been posted, but I just wanted to say I think I'll cry if this baby doesn't go for a little bit more. It's an auto, so I wouldn't want her, but it seems like such a pristine car to go for so low.

Also, I was happy to see it looks like this one also has a non-functioning "Top" button on the instrument cluster. Mine has that too, and I've been told that's incorrect. Anybody else have the button?

Car wears an incorrect pattern replacement roof. Why? 13,000 miles and it says that it was always garage kept.
I smell a recovered theft. Why ? The robber slit the roof with a razor, to gain access, joy-rode it, and at the very least, stole the stereo.

A 13,000 mile 'Vert, thats been garage kept, doesn't need a new roof.

The stitching is white (or light grey) it should be BLACK like the top color. That stitch that goes left to right across the top along the top of the rear large plastic window and then free-falls straight down what would be the "C" pillar on a coupe, to the belt line is all wrong. They were not made like that. That there is Cabrio-World of Newark, NJ replacement top.
(Don't mess with me) (and per usual.... the small wrap-around rear plastic windows are waaay too big !!)

The button says TOP because the ding-a-ling at the Dearborn Assy. plant grabbed the wrong button.
There were 3 that could have gone in there....

BLANK (correct one) WAS USED for a coupe or Hatchbk ordered w/OUT a Rr. Def.
Rr. Def. (Hatchback or Coupe with the Optional Rr. Defroster
TOP - For a Convertible (Factory, that is)

I have an inoperational top switch (button) also. Mine lites up with the rest of the gauges when the lights are on. I was told there is no way it should do that because of the wiring in the coupe. Glad to see others have the same sinerio as myself.

So what would be a good replacement top for my '89 blue top, short of a new one from Hank? I bought a Cabrio-World top for my '87 driver and it looked nice, but I'm sure it wouldn't pass your requirements.

The only perfect & correct one is (are) Hank's. Why? Because not one company management was intelligent enough to purchase ONE (1) from Hank and COPY IT !

Regarding the button, my guess is that the worker knew it was to become an ascMcLaren and therefore took a "TOP" button and hooked up the wiring, NOT KNOWING that the ascMcLaren tops WERE in fact NON POWER.
