I am not aware of any ascMcLaren being sent directly yo Mexico from (BY) ascMcLaren. I have found them in the Swiss Alps Region, Paris, France, Canada, Israel, England, Holland ( A Paris Blue one, yet...) and Denmark !
So... Mexico is certainly possible !

BTW, something interesting. Yes, the Mexico Mustangs had the upper quarter and front fender "blister" that our American Capris had. BUT...
Capri NEVER had a 2-Door Sedan. But the Mexican bound American Mustangs did. It's very mentally weird to see a Mexican bound 2-Door Coupe, WITH Capri rear quarter & front fender blisters. So Weird !!

somewhere I have a photo of one. (dark Gray 1986)

NO! to answer the next question

No, Sandy, you don't. :P

The Mexican Coupes never had the fender blisters. They were the Mustang Coupe (no fender blisters) with the Capri front nose and rear tailights. This is well known at FEP.

ALL Capri "Notchbacks" that you may have seen, that have fender blisters have had them welded on. There have been a few run through FEP too.

Bottom line, I have yet to see a Mexican "Coupe" with the rear fender blisters. If you hit the online Mexican auction sites, you can see many of these cars still for sale.

this is the one I thought

Look at the Capri Bubble back glass, and the Mustang front fender, AND THEN at the side/rear I see a blister line. Look hard as it's white & does not show up too well.

Or.........

Is it a Mercury Capri, With a Mustang front clip ? I dunno, (for a change) :)

That is a Mexican Mustang hatchback. Its the 83-86 one (obviously by the bubble). That would have the US Capri body with the flares.

Believe it or not they used the Capri front on the early ones and the Mustang front on the later ones.

I have pics of a very original 1980 with the Capri nose and a 1984 with the Mustang nose.

The notchbacks were always Mustang bodies though...no flares. Don't know if they did the same nose change around 83 like they did with the hatchbacks or not.
