For Sale - 86 ASC McLaren Eurocoupe #19 of 47

Post by mustangjim »

Hi Everyone- Been a while since I have posted on here. Unfortunately 2009 wasn't very kind to me (Job Loss & Divorce). I have my 86 ASC McLaren Eurocoupe #19 of 47 in storage that ends on Jan 21st, I have to decide to renew the storage contract by then or pull it, so with much disdain I have decided to try to sell it. Many of you know this car and over the years, I have passed on some low ball offers which do not do this car justice.

Here is a link to the ad that runs at the museum/storage. You will see that they have it listed for $12,995 (That includes my ask price of $10,500 + their $2495 commission), I am willing to sell it now for $8800 for it as it stands, car shows just like you see in the link. It is in fantastic overall condition, If no offers/buyer is found by 1-21-2010 I will renew the contract and keep it. I want a 4-eye or ASC Enthusiast to buy it and preserve its heritage.

My loss is your gain, It took me many years to find this car and I truly hate the thought of selling it, but priorities are just that. If you have any questions, please PM, email me or call me direct at: 636-253-6844, Title is in-hand, It is in absolute drive-off condition. If you live out of state, you can drive/fly in and I will accommodate you for delivery.

I live in High Ridge, Mo. which is @ 20 miles South of St. Louis, the car is stored at Gateway Classic Cars across from Gateway Int'l Raceway in Illinois @ 2 miles East of St. Louis.

Sales price includes documentation/provenance & a custom fit cover, I also have a few spare parts that can be negotiated as part of the sale. Not looking specifically for trades, but will consider partial trade, must be very nice though!

Hi- The Eurocoupes only had a 1/8" stripe on the molding belt. As for the wheels they are ARE's I had custom finished along with the center caps & brand new rubber. I no longer have the original wheels. The car is extremely clean, has not been in any weather since I owned it over the past 10 years. Thanks for the compliments, if anyone buys it they will be getting a very nice car.

Try and keep it! Everything will get better !! it will. It looks like its your last car you have. I regret selling a lot of my cars and I w ish I could have just few of them back. I had over 60 cars in the past 30 years.

Here is a list I WISH I had kept!

1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Custom built Vinyl top 1 produced with this top
1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Conv
1973 Mercury Cougars (3) XR-7 HT
1978 Chevy El Camino SS
1966 Lincoln 2 door 462 engine ( was in the Ford Family)
1968 Dodge Charger R/T
1984 Ford EXP Turbo RARE Yes! a factory Turbo!
1978 Chevy Camaro Z28
1980 Chevy Camaro Z28
1980 Pontiac Firebird Esprint

Chris- Thanks for the kind words of encouragement, I am sure you are right, I need to pass your words along to the divorce attys that are trying to leverage liquidation of my business, home and property! LOL . Trust me, if I do not find a buyer by the 21st, I fully plan on extending the storage/consignment contract and will keep it. It is my last collector car and the one I have had always liked best and have had the longest.
