LOOKS

Post by Sandy »

I find when driving my Azura Blue '90 in warm weather, with the top down, very few other motorists even look at my car. After all, it looks like a Mustang from the front, from the rear and from the side. A few might recognize it's a color they have never seen on a Mustang - but that's it.
However, with the roof UP .... Now I get THE looks. They see the Mercedes style roof, and and and ... it's on a Mustang. It's the "What gives" look. :shrug THAT is when they beginng waving and yelling out the window, "What kinda car is dat??"

Anyone else find this to be true ?

My '89 seems to get double takes and questions top up or down. In Vegas a group asked if it was a prototype for the new Mustang.

St. Pat's parade coming up this Saturday. We never know who will be in the car. For Vet's day it was the Governor of AZ.

I laughed at him, offered to drag his shoebox faster than it could go by itself, and racked the throttle a bit in neutral. I hope that either convinced him or sterilized him.

My 89 black on tan gets driven approx. 7.394% of it's total out of garage time with the top up, so it's hard to make a comparison. From personal experience, if I had to guess, I'd say majority of looky lou's/qusetion askers/perplexed faces are with the "top down" position.
