1986 Vert 28K miles, motor/body/paint original

Post by toddf »

Hello all,
I have decided to sell my 86 ASC McLaren Vert. It has 28K miles on it and is loaded with options. #171. It has the Recaro seats (speakers in the passenger seat still work). Also has the original radar detector, still works, and the air horn. I replaced the steering wheel.
The top is fully functional with one very small hole. If I was keeping it I would replace the top and the seals for it. Since I keep it in storage and run with the top down I have not replaced it. The motors and latches work with no problem. It is an automatic with a mild shift kit. As my album shows I customized the dashboard with a Capri dash which I painted to match the interior and get away from the wood grain. I still have the original. Still has factory radio and rims with correct tires. Car has the original paint and has never been in an accident.
I also have the much of the original documents, including the ASC checklist and top operating instructions.
I have been told that this car was one of the demo cars used by ASC Sales Management. I drive it to cruise in and shows in the Myrtle Beach area often. Last week it took a 120 mile Trip to a show in NC.
I bought 2 years ago for $9500, willing to sale it for $8K to someone that will enjoy and take care of it.
Pics are in my album, and i have more pics.[/url]

G/L with the sale. I dig the blue interior.

Thanks for noticing the interior! I thought a color matched dash made a ton of difference, and people familiar with the car liked the changes.
And yes, I do have the original parts, I ordered used ones and painted them, keeping the original intact!

Keep it, if you can.

I regret some of the cars I bought and sold leaving me.

'71 Dodge Challenger 440 SixPak Convertible. Bought for $1700.00, sold for $2200.00. Almost kept it but it got 10 MPG and I got it about the time of the first gas crisis.

1959 Ford retractible. Bought at auction for $400.00. Had been stored and repo'd. No bidders. Ex wife sold it out from under me.

1958 Corvette. Bought when I got out of the Air Force in 1959. Then the wife got pregant with our second daughter. Bye-Bye vette!

1954 Studebaker Starlight Coupe. Was a high school car my Mom let me drive. She traded it while I was in basic training.

1966 Fairlane 500 XL. My first brand new car when I went to work for TRW.

There are others but I'm boring MYSELF. They're gone!

Plum Krazy with a white vinyl (Leather looking) interior.

I'd pay $20,000.00 for a 'decent' one in a heartbeat! One went for a million 2 years ago in an auction. Same color, same interior, same everything.

I could 'hotrod' it just a little bit and get the mileage down to 6 MPG. Not an economy car. Gorgeous lines though.

I emailed you something about the plaque on my intake manifold. Did you get it?

To be honest, I hate to let her go. Between my son and I (he is 21) we have a 2010 GT (Track Pack, stick), 2010 Grabber Blue, 1992 GT with 180K miles and 450HP on the wheels but looks stock, and an 89 LX Hatchback with 44K documented miles (every service record to day 1).

My wife's 68 Chevelle with a 427 doesn't help.

So I am downsizing a bit. It is a nice car, thinking about taking it to Carlisle.

Build another garage! kicking the Chevy to the curb would help with the permits and plans for the man cave. BTW, my wifes car is a charger...

A charger? no way!
Actually one I did not mention is I have a Go-Mango 2006 RT Charger Daytona, 82K miles. One previous owner, The Darlington Motor Speedway, still have the stickers from the "Charger 500" race in 2006, mine was the one with the lights in the front of the pack! Yep, pace car, I have the documents for it also.

I will get some more picks up this weekend.

oh man that sounds like a sweet car. The wifes charger is an 06, but all show no go. 3.5 liter HO, but it's no v8. Love to see the pics! I think I have her car on the second page of my album?

Magnums are nice. the body style grows on you. hated the Charger at first but then the lines started to look good to me. I tried to get her to go for an 06 Mustang but back then the kids were still in car seats. With that, a two door is just a pain in the ass everyday they get in and out. I am sure she will get a Mustang sooner than later. she's been commenting on how she can bring one to the car shows with me in the future. Of course I only have one trailer so she can be the bandit!
