CL is great about forwarding as long as the seller answers his mail.

BTW, this one has been there a couple of weeks, maybe, and no pics yet...

I think if he gets an offer of exactly 1/2 of his asking price, ($16,000) he has done fantastic ! It seems to lack the OEM wheels.

Exerpt from the Craigslist ad:

"MAKES OTHER MCLARENS LOOK BAD"

Now that, my friends, is a heavy duty statement.

I haven't seen anything yet that makes a McLaren look bad---how about you folks?

I still have people say my car looks "So cool" even though it's nowhere near complete.

The owner says he's working on finding existing pictures.

He doesn't want to take it out 'cause of the snow flakes everywhere.

Whoa....Sounds like he & I could be good friends !
I too fear snowflakes. Actually I also fear rain.
I also fear other cars on the road, and deer jumping out when I drive through the undeveloped areas.
I fear tailgaters, sothat covers pretty much ALL Hondas & Toyopets.

Beginning this coming April, I am taking all the "toys" OUT for a good ride.
The ride to the hospital is a good ride...BUT, what to do when I get there?
250 car parking lot & 98% are taken ! Door Dings are definately on the menu, once you are parked. I take wife's 2001 Cherokee, and nothing has ever happened, but if I took the Caddy or any McLaren 'Ya know 4-sure I would get a healthy dent in the bodyside.

It's scary here. E'body drives like they are LATE for their Mom's funeral !!
Even if they are going 1/2 a mile to the 7-11 for a newspaper.

I know many guys, who never take their antiques, classics and/or special interest cars out.......out of fear of getting hit. I am not alone.

I too never take mine out in rain, snow etc... in fact if there's any chance of rain in the forecast I won't go further than around the block. It never leaves the garage/ gets driven unless it's above 50 deg. NOTHING touches the paint except for 100% white cotton wash mitt, 100% cotton white name brand American towel for wiping off wax/polish, micro fiber wax/polish applicator and chamois for drying. On the rare occasion when I leave it parked, the following criteria MUST be met: large parking lot no more than approx 70% full MAX! Last space possible w/ @ least 2 open spaces around the 1 I'm parked in. I NEVER leave it on Boston parked or to go to the movie theater. There are only certain people I let ride shotgun, nobody over 250 lbs (sorry :( ) , dirty, crusty, smelly etc :)
I have been known to ask prospective passengers if they have any pens/pocket knives of ANY sharp objects in their pocket that pose a possible threat. In the future I might develop a "pat down " system which may involve a portable metal detector :). In the past I've caught offenders leaning on one of my cars, resting garden tools against bumpers and the ever popular can of bud resting in trunk lid(nothin can stay on the hood (combination of 24 coats wax/polish & angle of said hood. Stuff just slides right off. This is 1 of the most scariest scenarios!!! There are sooooo many tailgaiters /close following looy lou's 'round here. MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once in a great while I'll take one of ours down to St. Petersburg, Florida to a cruise-in at BiffBurger. When I drive down there I am as nervous as a cat in a roomful of rockers. Head swivels around like one of Jeff Dunham's puppets! They have so many traffic lights you don't have to worry about speeders. last trip it took 25 minutes to go 4 miles.

If your converts get hit in the front, they can be fixed, ditto the doors, (using T-Top doors, that is), but..... if they get hit in rear quarter panels -OR- in the rear, making necessary a new trunk lid, your car is a goner.

Remember, a special designed and manufactured jig to laser cut off the roof, driven via computer was designed and manufactured to remove the top to very intricate dimentions. That machine was crushed in 2001.
THAT is why we all need to fear tailgators !! I have many many times, pulled over & let the offending (insert Japanese car name here) pass me.
Yes, the trunk cover (to my surprise) is custom made - I was told !
Its measurment from front to back (from edge of convt. top material to Centr stop light is shorter than a Mustang 2-door sedan. I have not verified ths, myself, however. Does anyone here know if that IS correct?

ALSO I WAS TOLD THE TRUNK LID IS MADE FROM ALUMINUM. IS THAT TRUE ????
