I have two, one for each Mustang. I do not have a Capri one and I do not think they were made. I recall when I bought my 1986 Coupe that none of the ascMcLaren converts has stickers on them - only the COUPES and the Coupes had the FoMoCo installed sticker and the only mention of asc/McLaren was under the "SHIP" box.

It said "Ship Thru: ascMcLaren / Autry Ave.........and the address. in Livonia. Mi.

Probably said the same thing on the 'Verts, but it would be super intersting to see HOW Ford made the Capris that were going to be made as Converts AT asc/McLaren !!! windows were taken off and trashed. I woulda LOVE to see a Ford applied sticker before the car reached asc !! To see HOW Ford msde them FOR asc/McLaren !!

He wants $50.00 for it. That is crazy. I'd offer $20 bucks, no more.

Thanks for the info Sandy. I like original paperworks so to have a copy would have been nice. I have my original warranty booklet or folder wich is not bad, better than nothing.

I would LOVE to just view a 1985-1986 Merc. Capri, built to ascMcLaren's specs, Ford Applied window sticker, for a Convertible-Spec build. I am sure they were on the window, when driven outta the assembly line, but once AT asc/M<cLaren (they were still "on" while parked outside) but when brought inside for conversion, those windows (both sides) were trashed and replaced with different windows. (Remember, the "A" posts were bent rearward by a specific machine, by ascMcLaren. Therefore, the OEM Ford installed door windows would not fit, as they would hit the A-Pillar like 50% of the way, going UP.

I remember when working at the Ford dealer that there was a identical copy for us in the car, I wonder if it was the same for those. Somebody somewhere may have one for us. Cars like the one you have are nice at car shows with all the paperwork in place like day ONE.

I got a call last week from the original owner of our 85 Coupe.

He was moving his residence and found a lock box in the basement.
This lock box had been forgotten about for a long time.

The box contained the original bill of sale, odometer statement,
and the owners manual still in the dealer envelope from new
car delivery.

I already had the build sheet for our car. I have one of the A.S.C. brochure's given to prospective cutomers.
I obtained an original manual that was given to dealers,to train
salesmen on how to market the cars.
I have a A.S.C. sales brochure for verts that has a color
photo on the cover.

I guess it was good week, documentation is complete.

Thats crazy and also a tremendous waste of money.

I remember the first time I saw my first "Mc". I fell in love at first sight, literally. I knew then I had to have one. The cars sold themselves and the literature(brochures) told you everything you needed to know about them.
The only thing the salesperson could tell you was what it cost.

I have the window sticker and the invoice for my '86 Capri 'vert
plus every piece of paper, manual etc that goes with my car. The dealership called me and told me they had found the file that was stored away for almost 25 years! 6 months after I purchased the car.

I could do that for group. One window sticker is white with black print. The invoice is Gray with a red outline with black print. It shows the shipping address on the bottom to say " Hines Park Linc Merc" But its crossed out with red pen and some one wrote " Ship to Stuart LM Per Howard Storch ASC
Plus I have the Shipper and Receiver from ASC with the address of

The Folder that Hines Park gave me has about 30 diffrent pieces of information, New owners Guide, Quick Guide. Kenwood manel, Incoming Inspection Report from ASC. Out going Inspection Report from ASC.
Keiper Recaro Check list. (pink copy) with check marks, Ownercard with VIN Number, Recaro Mounting and Operating Instructions for Recaro Seats, 5.0 SC Convertible Folding Top Operation Manual (MINT) Odometer disclosure statement, New keys with "record detach steel tags" and much more.

I hope you know you're a very lucky person to have all that for your car. In my opinion it gives more value to the car. For me it would make the diffence in a decision between two cars.

I know! When the dealership called I jumped in the car almost ran every light and stop sign. as this car was NEVER titled until I purchased it. The car belonged to the owner of Hines Park Mercury. It was George Klob"s Demo that All he did was put a dealer plate on the car when it was shipped to
Florida . He passed away sometime in the early 90's and car was stored in a under ground garage before being shipped back to Michigan to Hines Park. the family stored it in a hidden unmarked garage in downtown Plymouth Michigan. Has grandson used the car a couple of time, but parked it in the fenced in lot behind the dealership. ( know everything about this car) In Dec
2009 the used car manager put it on the used car lot for sale for $10,000 with only 16,000 actual miles. (it has 18,000 on it now) I made a cash offer of $7,000 and they took it. The family has tried to buy this car back from me, well lets say................ Its the BEST car I have owned. The dealership took very good care of the 86"vert . It still has the original tires on it and brakes!
