That interior seems to be in pretty good shape. That could be a gold mine for someone out there looking for reasonably priced parts for a gray interior car.
I'd like to see the rest of the car and why he is parting it.
Sandy, you could get the VIN on this one and mark it in your records as being DOA......... or RIP.

You're taking a car of which there were only 479 made for the production year and removing everything that is unique to the car that can be unbolted, replacing them with generic parts, leaving only the convertible top and cover as the sole components of it's rarity and future collectibility?acejoness wrote:im not looking to make money on the car, I would like to change out the ground effects and install a black interior

Yeah, it's kind of a back handed slap at the whole idea of what an ascMcLaren is.
I'll never understand why people turn rare cars into common cars. They do it with Capris too. Turn them into mustangs when there were only 1 Capri made to every 8 Mustangs.

besides I bought the car to turn into a show car, not a race car, although I am installing a 408 stroker motor in it, I looked for a 87-93 triple black convertible for months and months and I couldnt find a "virgin"
besides this is the car that came from SUBURBAN FORD for $4995 and the people on the forum said to run from this car they said it was a pile of junk, so I guess im rescuing this car

At least you have made an attempt to share the opportunity to obtain these rare parts with those whom would be most likely to appreciate them or possibly be able to put them to good use!acejoness wrote:besides I bought the car to turn into a show car, not a race car, although I am installing a 408 stroker motor in it, I looked for a 87-93 triple black convertible for months and months and I couldnt find a "virgin"

Thank you for taking the time to try and keep these parts on the road. Good luck with your project!
I am going to have to agree with your thoughts on this. Its your car, do what you will with it. Honestly, ASC did not go that far off stock in the first place, a couple of trim panels, modified arm rest, and a couple of recaro seats hardly constitutes a complete modification. The body is where Mclaren worked their magic, the interior is obviously just what they had to do to make the car a little more special. You in turn are going to give it your own twist, and make it into your vision. Besides that, if your not cutting the car up some uber purist could always unbolt what you have done.acejoness wrote:besides I bought the car to turn into a show car, not a race car, although I am installing a 408 stroker motor in it, I looked for a 87-93 triple black convertible for months and months and I couldnt find a "virgin"
