Was anybody else watching the GP4 auction? What do you think of todays events with regard to the auction?

Ok! A quick synopsis. Guys selling a GP4 he doesn't use, thinks its one of 200, someone sends him note of correct production figure, (side note. from here is pure speculation based on "appearance") he watches auction, does homework, ends auction before someone wins it for relative bargain, relists same day with starting bid about where previous auction ended.
Now, for my own personal disclaimer...... This guy has every right to do what he did. Nobody wants to unknowingly or knowingly cheat themselves. But, like your mother used to tell you, its not always WHATyou do, but how you go about doing it ! And I, personally thught it was kinda janky. Chuck

I sent him a note about it and a link to the GP4 site. I didn't want to see the car sell for peanuts. It should be going to somebody who wants the car for its rarity. I'd hate to see some redneck on a board laughing on how he snagged GP4 on ebay cause the guy didn't know what he had....and that he was going to drop a Chevy 350 in it just for fun.

It IS a little weird what he did.

At least he did say he didnt put a reserve on it and he screwed up. I think he should have explained a little more. But its very obvious what happened.

I hope it sells for 10k or more. THAT would make me feel good that the prices of these cars are starting to budge.

Weird. Listed on the 14th Sept. - pulled off on the 19th Sept and not a single bid on it. Began at $100 ended at $100 ? Last Monday eve I got a call from a guy asking me about these. I told him 30 were made & asked if he has one. He said, "No ~ but a friend does" ~ ~ he was "thinking" of buying it..... I can't believe not a single bid....... At $100 they probably thought there was something big wrong with it ..... I have no clue what these are worth. Not enough of them have sold, or if they have, I didn't know about them. Can't get much cheaper than $100.

No, it was bid up to $4k. The bids were cancelled. Check the bidding history.

I was one of the guys hoping to snag the car at a bargain price, but I can certainly understand Negusm's reasoning. I wonder how high it will go.

Well, obviously, now it CAN'T go high enough for him, he's listed it for a THIRD time. And yes, this is stuck in my craw, now. Chuck

I wonder how much he thinks he should be able to get for it.
