Put McLaren in show this weekend

Post by bryan »

Put my car in an all-Ford show this weekend. Took first place in my class, but no other "84-93 specialty stock" (i.e. McLaren, Saleen, etc., but excluding SVT) showed up, so it wasn't much of a victory  .

The car generated a lot of interest. It was the first time many people had seen one. The funny part was how much misinformation there is out there. Lots of people thought ascMcLaren did all sorts of performance mods, including a supercharger. And there was a Mustang coupe.

There were lots of interesting late-model Mustangs there, but mostly highly modified. That's not really my thing. One of the highlights for me was a 1984 GT 350 anniversary model that looked like it had been pampered pretty well.

Oh 'ya, I hear 'ya loud & clear. When I show any of mine, you oughta hear all the "experts" telling the "no-nothings" all about my car !! It gets kinda funny after a while listening to them.

I stand corrected. Wonder what ever happened to that thing.

From what Sandy says, it was decommissioned and turned back into a plain jane Mustang.
