Sunroof available in 1985?

Post by 1985 Motorsport Capri »

Anyone know if the factory ford sunroof was an option in 1985 on ASC Coupes?

I don't think it was an official option but I think a few came through that way.

There is a picture of asc at a show with a model sitting on the roof of what I think is a 1985 asc coupe and she is clearly perched in a sunroof. The banner behind her says 1985.

Mine is FF615843 has sunroof, pw, pdl, pw hatch, pw fuel door. Fully documented. I talked to Sandy before he passed, he believed there were 3 with sunroof.

Don't have owner card, build sheet or window sticker. All the others were posted a while ago when bluemclaren ( Jeremie Wagner) owned it. The only things I haven't posted is marti report and paper from ford verifying it was built with sunroof, and all power features.

Do you have the buck tag? Behind the radiator?

I don't yet have possession of the '85 Coupe I bought at auction, but the Marti Report says both Flip Roof AND a 2.73 gear when I thought all '85 Coupes git 3.08 (and this will get a 3.27)

Many 85s had the 2.73

Mine does.

I'm hoping that the Marti Report is off because they asked for a photo of the door tag I didn't yet provide, yet they sent me the report anyway.

If I recall correctly--and it's been thirty years, the boilerplate window sticker stated Standard Equipment, then the detail of options was on the other side, like the no-cost 3.08 upgrade.

Did you verify your Coupe has 2.73? I'd like to go 3.27, but finding a 7.5" set of gears is proving difficult. May just go 8.8 Auto trans rear and go from there.

I have the 2.73 for sure.

I have stored away 3.73 gears for the 7.5...I was/am/maybe going to do that swap down the road.

Doubtful the Marti Report is incorrect.

Here is one 3.73 on ebay:

I saw you said 3.27...why go in the middle? Just go for torque with the 3.73 or go for economy with 2.73?
