Production #on an 86 convertible

Post by Capripilot »

I just picked up an 86 convertible that was heading for the slaughter house. I'm trying to figure out what # it is but the plaque is missing. The vin# is 1MEBP79M6GF613233. Don't know if it's possible to figure out the production # from that or not.

Thanks in advance guys![/img]

From all I've read and heard, from a former employee, probably not, unless it's registered here.

Vin number for 86 ASC Vert

Post by capri50asc »

Hi

I have two 86 Capris One made in Jan 1986 VIN #609861 and the other made in July 1986 #617452 So your car was made some time in April of 1986. The plaques (On the pass QT) did not go in any order from what we have all been told. My 86 Conv is #0082 yours could be #0100 to #0125. If you go on Ebay and type in search, there is one on there now. You can have the numbers typed. in

Thanks Chris

Cum

Post by svo413 »

I think closer to cum 140 to 150 as this one is in the database.

Posted: Wed Jun 04, 2014 8:39 pm Post subject: 1986 CUN : 613238 : Sequence # : 0146

From my list:
612999 cum 148
613158 cum 155 seems like it could be out of sequence or an error
613238 cum 146

They would order cars in batches of 10-20 cars I believe, but that does not mean they were converted in that sequence.
