I am weary of it for sure, he contacted me through paypal and I just talked with him again today and he will be following through a Ebay purchase procedure, I will be also using my own broker to verify the car and shipping. It may cost but it will be much worth it in the end. So if this guy is legit (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) then I will be the new owner of the black car...

I would really really only give your (trustworthy) broker the money.jpywell wrote:I am weary of it for sure, he contacted me through paypal and I just talked with him again today and he will be following through a Ebay purchase procedure, I will be also using my own broker to verify the car and shipping. Do not give the guy any money except a deposit. No matter how much he complains...there are too many oversea scams. If you have third person verification that the guy indeed has the car, thats a good start.
Also make sure the title can be transferred and all. I don't know how that has to be done.
Keep us posted on the progress and what you have to do to make it all happen.
GOOD LUCK!

I contacted the museum, I am also interested in there 1970 Mustang they have for sale aswell. I may fly over some friends in the UK to check it out for me if the responces are good. I have a couple contacts I am checking through (1 being my lawyer) and seeing how they bring cars over, since they bring cars from Japan and Europe aswell. And lastly if the Museum can authenticate my request on the M81 and the 70 stang then we shall procede with an acredited shipping/broker company to handle everything we need. I am also going tommorow to the customs agency to see what paper work I need. Also is there anyway to make sure that the owner of the car is the one selling me it rather then just possibly getting the car but find out it was stolen? And lastly does anyone know if its possible to get a list from ford too find out maybe who owned it over the years?
Yes its going to be quite a process but I am willing to go through everything to get it. It seemed the last buyer could not facility the proper things to purchase the car. I have contacted a couple of the other bidders too see what they know about this.Keep us posted on the progress and what you have to do to make it all happen.

As a seller I can send a Second Chance Offer to anyone that bid on an item, not just the high bidder.
Considering this car has never been seen by anyone here, personally or pictures, that actually has enough interest in them to look for them would lead me to believe that this car is legit. Sandy knew it was in Italy from my conversations with him going back at least 15 years.

It will also be found that this black car began life as a Bittersweet (orange) car as well, like the white example. The car looked to me to be excellent in the photos. Someone has taken care of it, at least cosmeticly.
That's a good sign. I believe that of the original 11, that I found 6. I know I found 5 orange & the white one. I had 3 chances to buy one of the orange ones, but never had the room. Right now I have 6 cars, and one supposedly coming end of the month.

It's not a car that would be of much interest / appreciation to anyone on this board. You see, I am also into the 1989-1992 Cadillac
Fleetwood COUPES. I am pretty involved on the Caddy Board as well. Not many people have one of these, considering the ultra low volume of sales it had. I have located the best example left in the world. The year is a 1992, the one owner (elderly male - Cadillac devotee) drove it 6,680 miles since new, OR 514 miles a year, on average. I've had the car inspected and out of a possible score of 100, it scored 98. The best part of this is that the car has absolutely every option Cadillac offerred on these. It's in UNmolested condition, and needs nothing, and the trunk protection mat (carpet) is new in box, the Cadillac carpeted floor mats are in the trunk, still sealed in their original clear plastic (Pep Boys mats are down on floor). The passenger side front seat still has its factory installed plastic seat cover, installed at the factory for "in transit" wearing. All service papers come with the car, performed at the selling Cadillac dealer. Original Factory Window Sticker is intact as are the owner's manual and it's presentation case. It comes with the original 2 sets of 23ct. gold finish keys and their presentation case. The tires are original as is everything else, except the battery, which is a GM Delco.
The former owner ordered absolutely everything on it, from the Gold Ornamentation Package to the Pwr. Glass MoonRoof, to the Heated Windshield & the Engine Block Heater. Also the dual POWER reclining seats, and the Anti Theft Deterrant Security & the Memory Recall Driver Seat with Easy Exit Feature, plus it has the d'Elegance Interior package with the "Floating" cushions, tufted & pleated with big leather wrapped buttons on the seats.
The problem is, right now we are awaiting the estate to be settled, and then the owner is selling it to me. It's in the Mid-West, so...I have to send an enclosed insurred truck to fetch it & bring it here.
It's a 25th anniversary gift for my wife, who has been an avid admirer of 1989-1992 Fleetwood Coupes for a long time, & this is the final year, with the most improvements.
I should hopefully have it by October 1st. The 17th is her birthday.
If you want, I'll post picts at that time. The car has a Kelly Blue Book Value, at this time, of $5,550.00. I am buying it for $3,000.
The Landau Vinyl Padded Roof with Opera Lights and the body paint match. They are Medium Slate-Grey Green Metallic. The inteior is light beige, as is the bodyside pin stripe. It has spent all of it's life in a temperature controlled garage at 68-degrees. 443 were made for 1992, making it the lowest volume 1992 Cadillac manufactured. Of the 443 made, only 21-percent were ordered with the $1,595.00 extra cost d'Elegance Interior, or 93 units. It was $ 44,000 new, 6,680 miles ago
