about paypal i have got scamed 2 times once as a seller and once as a buyer

the first time as a buyer i was buying a PDA sent the money through paypal as a bank transfer i never got the PDA but what i did get is several letters from the US department of justice the person i got it from had recently been scaming people on ebay i still get letters to this day about the case but havent seen a dime of the $400

the other time when i was a seller i was selling a un opend toshiba laptop that i had got for free from best buy as they had replaced mine after it broke i sold it on ebay cause it was the highest top of the line laptop out and i didnt need ALL the bells and whissels i got payment of $1800 to my pay pal 3 days later i went to ship it my dad called me on my way home from fed ex and said the money was taken out of paypal luckey for me i made it back to fed ex befor it went anywhare

What explanation was given as to why the money was taken out of your PayPal account?

pay pal says you should wate a few days i forget how manny to make sure the money clears into your bank acount i was on like the last day and pay pal said his account was closed and when he closed it the transfer never went through... like wrighting a bad check

Tell ya how I do e-Bay. I don't do PayPal, as I think they are $%$%$@@@^^ to the core ! I watch the item. If it's sold >>> it's sold & I lose. But if it's not sold, I contact the seller right after the no sale. I offer what I am willing to pay over the last sale price that did not meet reserve. (But, I do not offer reeserve! ~ BELOW reserve I offer). If we get a deal via internet (sometimes we haggle a bit) then I send a check to him/her. I send a bank trustee check, meaning the funds have been paid for me by the bank and will be deducted from my account, when the bank's check clears. Now, I have never gotten stiffed, but IF I do (did) the BANK goes after the crook in my behalf, because he has stiffed the bank !!

Deals? Recently a guy had on a NOS set (4) of the original AND VERY RARE, very very rare Chromed Factory Option Wheels for my 1993 Sixty Special. These wheels were $1,195.00 when the car was new. They were available over the parts counter until 1999. Then supply was exhausted. The installation rate of these wheels on 1993 Cadillac deVille/Sixty Special was 3.1 (three point one) percent. You'll NEVER find them in a salvage yard!!
This man had them on e-bay for $200 apiece or $800 the set. No bidders! After I contacted him, I was able to buy them for $400 TOTAL !! $100.00 a rim, $200.00 a rim less than from ther factory. Had I been "the" winning bidder ON E-Bay I would have had to pay $800.00, exactly double,
and remember, they were (are) NOS !!

Ebay works well for me. It gives me a board customer base.

I enjoy swapping and selling parts for Fords. It's a hobby, not my living.

Just like any business, you have your good and bad transactions, I just factor that in as the cost of doing business.

For the most part all transactions and people are good, there are a few that I have butted heads with.

My first thought was either sellers acc was compromised or not correct seller info on ebay ie: SCAM or second thought was car has salvage history and ebay pulled the auction i am fairley certin it was one of the two!
