I was never privledged to enjoy Mama Martinelli's brew :D My guess is that it's very good. Sunday the 8th good? 4PM ?

Just kidding. I am sure it's better - well, more authentic Italian - than mine.

Torn down and a luxury condo woulda been built. 2 & 3 bedrooms 1.5 baths, outdoor parking only, no children, no pets, etc, etc and they's sell for 1 million each for the 2 bedrooms & 1.6 mil on the 3 bedrooms. When they sold #1 they'd have back what they paid you.
That's why I've never seen a Pole Barn !!
LMAO Sandy your killing me!!! This reminds me of Rodney Dangerfield in Back to School when he's in Finance class talking about Widgets!!! Good stuff.
OMG I remember, this is to funny. I tried finding it on Youtube the best I could find was another good scene with Sam Kinison.

I took the liberty to email Peter Muscat with a bunch of questions I had about this upcoming car and a few about our fox body cars. Surprisingly I get an email back from Peter asking for my contact details so we can communicate better on the phone. Talk about excitement, WOOHOO! I never would have expected this. He called me earlier this Friday morning and we spoke for quite sometime. He has an accent and was calling from Malta which made it difficult at times to understand. Basically we discussed everything Sandy already covered and a few things more. I would like to share what I can remember and reiterate some things already mentioned.

Just to get it out of the way the small talk on our present cars. I asked him if our tops were the same as the older Mercedes 450 and he said there are differences just to dispel any rumors. The baked enamel paint that Ford used back in the 80’s was so inferior that he had the cars repainted. I also found out he is responsible for introducing Sikkens to America. The A pillar was lowered and reinforced cause the original design was to weak structurally. The reason the car was discontinued was because Peter was very unhappy with the direction ASC was taking on the quality or lack there of. Basically ASC was trying to cut corners and save money, because Peter held the royalties to the car he said you do it my way or not at all and the rest is history.

Now let’s get onto the fun stuff with the new car. So far there are 5 prototypes and no they are not for sale.  Peter discussed many issues such as quality control in Malta being 3% much lower then the 9% in England he had experienced with some companies. It takes 200 hrs of labor for each car and I think that may be just the manufacturing in Malta as he talked about the numerous pieces involved and the difference in labor costs from each country. So the materials will be manufactured in Malta and then installed in Detroit. He will be doing 2 cars a day, working one shift, if needed can do 4 cars a day two shifts, for a total of 500 cars a year, for 6 years of production on this body Mustang. So far as Sandy has mentioned there are 103 orders already mostly return customers from our cars. I believe he said a $2k deposit was necessary but don’t quote me.

There will be no performance enhancements. Although he was contacted by Steve Saleen recently he decided against doing something together. In the past he was offered by Jack Roush to work together on a specialty car and declined as well. This was back when they were in walking distance from each others building. He is improving these cars for aesthetic reasons and does not want to get involved with the Shelby’s, Saleen’s, Roush’s, Steeda’s, etc… After speaking with him I kind of agree and appreciate what he is doing even more so. I mean just think his work was never a sticker tape job. Allot of time and effort was put into engineering this and bringing it to production. In comparison to slapping a supercharger and stickers I’d say you are definitely getting your monies worth.

Peter Muscat is so impressed with the new Mustang. The body structure of the present Mustang is so good that no additional modifications were necessary to stiffen the car. The paint is far superior to what it used to be so no additional paint work is needed. The A pillar will not be moved like last time henceforth it wont be lowered. The top will be held together with adhesives this time not welds. He said you can literally grab the top from the side and push the top back and forth and it was so strong you would start rocking the car without affecting the integrity of the top! He mentioned that the top was far superior to the Cadillac’s convertible top. The top will be using the original rear window so no problems with seeing out the back. There will be 4 side windows with the rears custom made. He regrets not having a picture with the top down and windows up as he said it looks incredible. The car will be 100lbs lighter then the present car which is much needed. The only drawback is the rear sits higher right now because of this. He may do something about this. It will have a two tone interior and an optional dashboard from Ford that looks like silk aluminum. Wheels will be up to the owner as tastes varies greatly. He mentioned how so many people replaced the last cars wheels.

In the future he is going to look into doing something different with the tail lights and perhaps some other things every year. I mentioned the side mirrors look terrible stock and he agreed so who knows maybe that will be another fix of his. I gave my two cents that folding side mirrors of a different design would be real nice. Also mentioned how the rear looks to long with the top down and how maybe a roll bar or style bar like the Mercedes had on the SL500 would look nice. He said the reason Ford and other companies are not doing that is because of liability, so he wont. He did say you have to see the car in person it is stunning and doesn’t need a thing. In about a month the brochures will be coming out. Look for them at your local dealerships.

I’ve been up all night so my apologies if something doesn’t make sense please bring it to my attention and I will correct it. This turned out to be pretty long so I thank you for taking the time to read it. Peter said I can pass along his information to anyone else that is interested so I have it copied below. I would suggest emailing him first introducing yourself before calling this way you extend him the courtesy as I can imagine he must be a very busy man besides a +6 hour time difference. Don’t be shy either he is an extremely nice man and very humble. Especially when I told him I was honored to be speaking with him he said please no don’t say that he is very grateful to be doing what he loves and enjoys. He is a genuinely nice down to earth guy.

Nicholas :D

No mention as to when. He did say that he is more of a hands on guy and not to good with the marketing aspect so he is sending someone in his place right now. I was hoping to get to meet him as I am sure others are too. Could you imagine if we are able to get a get together with our cars and have him present? Just bring a sharpie pen lol.

Ah I can only dream of seeing so many ASC's, Sandy, Peter Muscat, and the rest of our family of owners and enthusiasts.

Sounds like a nice chat. I am under the impression
that he will be calling me sometime soon. I
requested "about 10" brochures, that I will
take one each to area Ford Dealers that I know,
and some of whom I know the owner(s), and try to
get them intrested in ordering one. When I get them,
I'll send one to Mike to scan on the site, for all to see.
I do not forsee myself ordering one, as I am too attached
to my present 6 cars to put any of these kids up for adoption!
(and) I cannot afford to add a child at this time, as
I am paying off 4 years of college at what was a
very expensive institution. Besides I am plain outta
garages and my monthly storage bill is $ 537.05 !!
Stick a fork in me - I'm "done" ~

Besides the ascMcLaren(s) listed below, I am "Daddy" to:-

1993 Cadillac Sixty Special with 9,890 miles, a 1-0ff,
made especially for me. Show car & multiple trophy
winner.

Daily Driver 2003 Lincoln Town Car Signature
Springtime "Feature car" - The Limited. 12,000 miles

Wife's Car - 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4 Wagon
