Sandy's Blue ASC

Post by asc709 »

All,

I'm sure we all knew it would happen, but Sandy's blue car is listed for sale on ascmclaren.com. $18,000.

Not for me, too far and I would just end up driving it! Maybe Hank will be interested?

I think that is the real problem that most will want to drive it.

And isn't Henry and Hank the same guy? that run the web site it is on.

If I had the room for it right now, I would buy it. That thing will hit MCA retired status as soon as it wins the minimum amount of shows. I got to see this one and the silver one when I went up to play with Sandy's hatchback a few years ago. The Capri is the one I may have to sell the farm for!

I too am surprised Henry didn't buy it to put in his collection. I've been down to his place as well, and he has an interesting and huge collection of ASC/McLaren vehicles.

I was wondering, as I'm sure a great many of us were, when Sandy's cars would be up for sale, but again, I'm sure we all thought it would be in poor taste to ask.

It would be nice if this and all Sandy's ASC's stayed "in house", so to speak.

I've wanted Sandy's Capri since I first met him back in '88. Unfortunately money is tight and I feel any offer I could make Karen and Matt would be an insult. I hope whomever gets the blue one can fully appreciate what they're getting.

All his cars are museum pieces. I think $18k is a steal. The car is perfect.

I just noticed the for sale ad says SOLD
I emailed Matt about the other cars with no reply, does anyone know the status of the other cars before I call him? I don't want to bother him unless I have to.

This was posted by Sandy 12/30/10. It took some digging to find but I had remembered him posting this
Sandy wrote:Regarding ME

...So far - So good. Karen (MY BRIDE) after being asked by ME, stated that if I lose my battle, she will sell the both 'Verts, and my 10,000 mile "1-OFF" 1993 Cadillac 60 Special - but, keep the 1986 McLaren Coupe. She is not sure on the Town Car Limited Edition and might keep the Jeep Cherokee - just for Winter use.

I had to ask her, as I was curious. She was angry at me, for asjing such a question!! I am holding my own and improving slightly. The new chemo I am getting is
HORRIBLE !!!!!! Sick for 8 days - then 5 good days and back again and again and again! Sick 16 days a month, in hospital 4 days a month. Home okay for 11 days. (Today is 1 of those 11  )

But Dr. says he will tke me off this premium juice from hell in 8 weeks ( that is a total of 4 infusions of it. I am dealing right now with # 2. Two more to go, over a month from now. :destroy
I still miss Sandy terribly

I hope this helps answer your question gsxr1000
