you can order one from a local auto store, it is the same as a trunk release for an 86 camaro. You can get the plastic cover for around 30, the entire assembly will run around 70.

If I recall correctly, the trunk release gets its power through the seat heater circuitry.

A charger? no way!
Actually one I did not mention is I have a Go-Mango 2006 RT Charger Daytona, 82K miles. One previous owner, The Darlington Motor Speedway, still have the stickers from the "Charger 500" race in 2006, mine was the one with the lights in the front of the pack! Yep, pace car, I have ...

To be honest, I hate to let her go. Between my son and I (he is 21) we have a 2010 GT (Track Pack, stick), 2010 Grabber Blue, 1992 GT with 180K miles and 450HP on the wheels but looks stock, and an 89 LX Hatchback with 44K documented miles (every service record to day 1).

My wife's 68 Chevelle with ...

Thanks for noticing the interior! I thought a color matched dash made a ton of difference, and people familiar with the car liked the changes.
And yes, I do have the original parts, I ordered used ones and painted them, keeping the original intact!

1986 Vert 28K miles, motor/body/paint original

Hello all,
I have decided to sell my 86 ASC McLaren Vert. It has 28K miles on it and is loaded with options. #171. It has the Recaro seats (speakers in the passenger seat still work). Also has the original radar detector, still works, and the air horn. I replaced the steering wheel.
The top is fully ...

Not sure if yours is wired like my 86, but I had same problem. Ends up the power is ran off the same circuit as the heated seat. The heated seat circuit opened up and I lost power. I simply removed the heated seat from the circuit and ran the power directly off the fuse panel. I installed a fuse in ...

Please keep in mind the original poster said they have no mechanical ability, so in an attempt to help, I used terms that a basic mechanic can understand. A distributor wire is one of 9 wires located on top of the distributor. 8 wires are also called spark plug wires, because they go from the ...

It if is turning over, that means the battery is strong enough to turn the starter, and the engine turns over. I would start by checking the 1) distributor 2) wires going from distributor to the spark plugs 3) the coil wires (on drivers side of engine bay on fendor) 4) the wires going to the ...

86 vert woodgrain dash

hello all,
My 86 Vert is white paint with blue interior. I found a very close paint match to the blue interior. I bought some dashboard/instrument panels off of ebay for an 86 Capri. I am in the process of painting the replacement dashboard/instrument panels with a blue background with white facings ...

Same thing happened to me at the Mustang Show in Myrtle Beach last year. One of the judges told me they decided I was not eligible for an award because i was a "mercury". Did not seem to stop them from giving one to a cobra kit car with a mustang II frame.

Go figure.
