Rest Easy Sandy

Post by midman »

As all of you have already touched on, Sandy was always there and willing to dig up any little nugget on our cars. When I first talked to him a few years ago he gave me all the info on my car and even sent me a picture of my car sitting in the car lot when it was for sale new! Him collecting all this was amazing!
God bless You Sandy, you can rest easy now.
My prayers to his family.
Thanks Sandy

Spoke to Sandy a few times and sent him pictures of my Dads RHD 89.
Always a gentleman with a genuine love of the cars.
He will be sadly missed not only by his family but the ASC world

My condolences to the family. We may never have meet face to face, but you were a true friend. Sandy was a true gentelman. Oh ... how he loved our cars. I'll miss you.

I have loved these cars since seeing a new Coupe in 1985, but didn't actually own one nor find this site until 2006. I've since been able to acquire several and Sandy was always willing to provide whatever information he could on each one. He was truly excited about these cars and learning more about them himself from the differences in each of the actual cars we found - even though he was the undisputed expert on them.

My condolences to his wife and son ... Sandy will be missed.

My condolences to you Matthew and your mom, I know what you are both going through, I lost my dad for the exact same reason.
We will never forget your dad, he was a huge help to many of us and was a great guy. I did speak with him on the phone one time and he was a pleasure to talk to.

RIP Sandy, you will be missed.

I am currently in New Jersey. I will be at the Funeral tomorrow, God willing.

I'll be the guy in the dark suit with the dark purple shirt who doesn't know anyone.

If anyone else goes, say hi if you see me.

When i first bought my GPIV in 1989, i started researching these cars.
after diving in, i had started a registry without really knowing it.
i kept hearing "contact Sandy Block" from people at dealerships, asc, & a couple owners. when i did contact Sandy, we had a bunch of info to share with each other. he encouraged me to keep going with my registry.
and he loved talking cars, esp. ASC McLarens. i will always be thankful to him for his interest, help & support in what i was doing.
without his dedication to these cars, ASC McLarens might have rusted out into history.
Thanks for everything Sandy, you will be missed!

Just got home from vacation, been away from the computer for 2 weeks. Not only do I hear of Sandy passing, but another good friend passed the same day.

I'm praying for both families and grieving the loss of 2 "good" friends.
Godspeed Sandy and my buddy Ron.

Mike, please pay respects for and give condolences to Sandy's family from all his "other" family.

Chuck

I attended, and it was a very touching gathering.

What surprised me was how much I knew of Sandy by just the correspondence I had with him over the years. I seemed to have already heard all the stories everyone told. And there were MANY stories.

To feel like I was part of his circle of family and friends at this time, because of him, struck me as something powerful. I daresay anyone on the board here would feel similar as he shared much of himself with us.

It was a relatively small ceremony on a beautiful summer day. It was very warm but a nice breeze kept everyone comfortable. It was on a hill side with a wonderful view.

He made his final ride in an immaculate Cadillac Hearse.
