This explains the differences that I noticed in the seats. I mentioned it in the other posting that the seats did not appear to be original 84 seats. I'm now guessing they could be from when ASC "redid" the car. ???????????

Look at the seats.

:?: I was just looking at the pictures of the car. I like the green color, but those are not 84 seats. At least, they do not look anything like the seats in our 84 convertible, #26. Any thoughts from anyone regarding the seats just being redo, or could they be from a newer year. The location of the ...

Earlier on this post Tom mentioned seeing #25 here in Minnesota. I met the guy last year at the Apple Valley Car show. He lives here in the "Twin Cities" area and #25 is stored in a garage over at his house. I'm hoping to see him in June at the car show and try to go over to take some pictures of ...

 It's that time again. The Apple Valley All-Ford show is Sunday, June 1st. We'll have #26 at the show again. We also found out last year that #25, which is also red with a tan interior, is sitting in a garage in Bloomington, MN. Maybe, someday, Tom will bring his car to the show. :wink ...

Apple Valley, MN Car show

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let anybody in the area know that there is an all Ford car show at Apple Valley Ford, in Minnesota. The date for the show is June 3rd. We'll have our 1984 vert. #26 there, along with an 84 "20th aniversary Mustang, and a 79 Mustang pace car. The rest of the cars have to ...

Hi Chris,

The next time I'm over that way, I'll try to track down the car again. I think the owner is a sales rep. at a car dealership, but I don't think the car is for sale.

Hi Paul, so good to hear such stories of restoring your ASC. It helps from all the blows of people parting out, sigh. Would love to know what motors he is using and were we can get them from him. As far as suspension goes I would say the springs and check the tie rods. Didn't you notice the ASC ...

Spotted #295

Hi All,

We were just out running around last night and came across a Mustang Mclaren. I saw the label on the dash, it was #295. I'm not familar with the details of 87 & up, but the "ASCMCLAREN" bumper was an easy giveaway. The car had red interior. The seats had the Ascmclaren label on them. The ...

#26 convertible

Hi Sandy,

It's car #26. Vert is short for convertible. :) We have the ability to redo the wheels on the car, but I need to know the correct paint code for the wheels. The suspension on the Mclaren appears to match the 1984 GT-350 aniversary cars. Can you confirm this information? I also found a ...

wheel color code

Does anyone know the paint code for the "gold color" on the wheels of an 84 vert? Also, we been comparing the 84 asc to two 84 20th aniversary stangs. It looks like they have identical supensions. Your thoughts??

Thanks
Paul

Looking back through the older postings I found information on the carrera 5375 shocks and the thunderbird turbo coupe tie rod ends. Is this the correct stuff for the 84 verts?? This forum is a total gold mne of information. Y'all do an excellent job of representing the Mclaren as a whole ...

I haven't had the chance to dig too deep yet, but everything relating to the engine of the 84 ASC convertible looks to be the same as the 20th anniversary Mustang convertible. My father-in-law has two of them, so we can compare the cars side-by-side. That decal is the same for both cars.

Hi David,

Thanks the pm. I just got the set of paperwork that was with the car this morning, even the old Texas license plate. I'm guessing your correct about him being the original owner. Their was a Ziebart warranty sheet from Nov. 1986 and I did see that the stuff I asked about happened in ...
